This new venture for SOEL saw RCG transform an existing church into a modern, fully compliant childcare facility designed by MPS Architects, bringing new life to the building while still celebrating it’s original character.

The refurbishment introduced a new reception area, a series of indoor play spaces, dedicated outdoor play zones, a commercial‑grade kitchen, amenities, staff areas and supporting back‑of‑house functions. The existing structure was adapted with care, allowing the character of the original building to sit comfortably alongside the needs of a modern childcare centre.

The team also refreshed the surrounding external areas to support outdoor learning and play. Delivered within a ten‑month programme, the project required close collaboration with the client’s project team and a thoughtful approach to meeting childcare regulations, ensuring strong value and a smooth delivery from start to finish.
